Got to spend a gorgeous Houston day over the Thanksgiving holiday shooting Michelle's senior portraits. If you know someone graduating this spring, send them my way!
In November of 2014, I interned with the art department of Southern Tale. Through sub-freezing nights on set and drives back and forth from small towns across Oklahoma and campus to (barely) make it to class, I loved every second. It was the catalyst for all the work I've done in TV and film today.
Writer, director, and lead actor, Tel Royal had me out to shoot a blend of digital and film photos for the world premiere of Southern Tale at the 2017 Austin Film Festival. It was my first film festival and my first hybrid digital and film shoot, and so much fun.
Here are some of the photos from the weekend! Click the icons to see them big.
Five random musicians. One studio engineer. One cover artist. One vinyl cutter. One photographer/videographer.
Twenty four hours.
From start to shiny, scratch-free vinyl finish.
That's the idea behind the Dog Day Sessions. Each one is a different collective of artists and a different blend of sounds. I lucked out and got asked to shoot (both stills and video - yup, I make pictures that move, too!) the first official Dog Day Session. So, I loaded up my gear, drove to Austin, and did my best to stay awake the entire 24 hours.
